A true food forest may be unlike anything you have ever experienced. There are fruits, berries, and nuts that you'll never find in a store; the good stuff. A surprise for every season. Enough to preserve through the year; enough to feed all the grandchildren and even our neighbors. Nutritious and delicious food.
We implant food forests because a forest becomes its ecosystem. Orchards demand attention but a forest will persist, like us, she works by succession in densely planted areas, as the old trees fall they make way for the young.
This isn't landscaping, we know the best things take time. Over a year we will prepare and plant on your land; planting in succession. Everything you will see growing is beneficial, medicinal, and edible.
Nature favors diversity. In just a few years, expect an overstory of nut trees and hardwoods, tall and medium fruit trees, the entire spread of North American berry shrubs, and perennial herbs spread all about.
We create systems, multi-layer forests that require less water every year that they mature. After our one-year term, we return twice yearly to perform pruning and any maintenance work needed. Of course, planting more with every visit.
